Description
The Unitree R1 EDU Pro A (U3) is the R1 EDU supplied with two Unitree Dex3-1 three-finger dexterous hands in place of the fixed hands. Each hand has 7 degrees of freedom (thumb 3, index 2, middle 2), so the robot has 40 in all, on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin backpack rated at 100 TOPS with full secondary development.
The Dex3-1 is Unitree's force-control hand, driven by 6 direct-drive and 1 gear-drive micro brushless joints. Each hand connects to XT30 power, a signal port and a camera port on the backpack's dexterous-hand expansion module, and Unitree publishes a step-by-step fitting film for it. The Pro A's hands come without touch sensors.
The rest is the R1 EDU: the 26-joint, 29 kg body with its binocular depth camera, unitree_sdk2 in C++ and Python on DDS, compatibility with ROS 2, and URDF, STEP and MuJoCo models. It is the three-finger route into dexterous manipulation on a walking humanoid for research groups and teaching labs.
The R1 EDU Pro B (U4) uses the same Dex3-1 hands with 33 pressure sensors each. Pro C and Pro D carry five-finger BrainCo Revo 2 hands (38 DOF in all), and the R1 EDU Smart (U2) is the same 100 TOPS robot without hands.

The Unitree Robotics R1 EDU Pro A (U3) is priced at €27.800 in your market. For volume or project orders, contact us for a business quote.
Touch sensing. Both carry two Unitree Dex3-1 three-finger hands (7 DOF each, 40 DOF in all) on the 100 TOPS backpack. The Pro A's hands have no touch sensors; the R1 EDU Pro B (U4) has 33 pressure sensors per hand in 9 arrays, measuring 10–2500 g.
Each Dex3-1 is a three-finger force-control hand with 7 DOF: 3 in the thumb, 2 in the index finger and 2 in the middle finger, on 6 direct-drive and 1 gear-drive micro brushless joints. Unitree's figures for the version with sensors are 710 g, 175 × 88 × 77 mm, ±2 mm fingertip repeatability and a 500 g grasp load; the Pro A hand's own figures are confirmed with your quotation.
Unitree's R1 unboxing film shows the robot in a hard transport case, a quick-release R1 smart battery, the charger and charging cable, a remote control with emergency stop, a stand set (base, support rod, bracket, quick-release clamp, wave washer and protective foam), a calibration steel shaft, body stickers and the user manual. As an R1 EDU it adds the computing backpack with its NVIDIA Jetson Orin module (100 TOPS), expansion rails, screws, the dexterous-hand expansion module and its leads. The Pro A (U3) also comes with its two Unitree Dex3-1 hands, their fixing brackets, camera brackets and cables. Unitree publishes no written packing list per edition, so we confirm the full list for your configuration with your quotation.
Unitree does not recommend it. During development, avoid violent movements such as running or balance tests while the dexterous hands are fitted, and increase the shoulder motors' outward offset so the hands do not collide with the body.
Yes, as every R1 EDU does: unitree_sdk2 in C++ and Python on DDS, compatible with ROS 2, with high-level and joint-level control, on the backpack's 100 TOPS development computing unit. Unitree provides URDF, STEP and MuJoCo models of the R1.
Like every R1 EDU, the R1 EDU Pro A (U3) carries Unitree's 12-month manufacturer warranty (the R1 Basic: 8 months). It is sourced new through established distribution channels and ships worldwide, and technical support is coordinated with the manufacturer's service network. Unitree's R1 developer guide covers the SDK, the computing backpack and fitting the hands.
